About Scale Practice
Scale Practice is a music-practice aid that helps musicians vary the order in which they work on scales and arpeggios. It can choose a random scale from a built-in list of scale types or from a list supplied by the user, providing a prompt for the next exercise rather than leaving the selection to habit. The built-in material covers major and minor scales, modes, blues and pentatonic scales, octatonic scales, and whole-tone scales. The app also includes images and descriptions intended to help users learn unfamiliar scales. Its arpeggio practice feature is listed alongside the scale tools. Scale Practice does not listen to a performance or evaluate how accurately the user plays. It is designed only to choose and present practice material, leaving the musician to perform and assess the exercise independently. The user can think of it as a randomizer and reference for structuring scale practice, not as an instrument tuner, recording tool, or automated instructor.
