About scratchtext
scratchtext is a command-line tool for working with Scratch projects as readable text. It compiles a .scratch source file into a Scratch .sb3 project and can decompile a project back into text along with its images and sounds. This makes it possible to inspect or edit a project’s structure in a text-based workflow. Users can add their own PNG, JPG, or SVG images and reference them as sprites or backdrops. The tool supports lossless round-tripping of blocks, including built-in and custom extensions. scratchtext is intended for creators who want to version, inspect, or modify Scratch projects through text files and command-line tooling.
