About ScrubPony
ScrubPony removes embedded metadata from JPEG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC photos while leaving the image appearance unchanged. It creates a clean copy rather than modifying the original file. Metadata that can be removed includes location coordinates, date and time, camera and phone model, and embedded thumbnails. Users can process a single photo or a batch. Images can be shared into ScrubPony from another app, then saved to the gallery, a selected folder, or shared onward after processing. The app handles HEIC files as well as common web and camera formats, making it useful for photos captured in the format many phones use by default. ScrubPony works locally on the device without network access or permissions, according to its description. It copies the image data through byte for byte while removing metadata, so the picture itself looks the same. The app is open-source software under Apache License 2.0.
