About SecondScreen

SecondScreen provides extra display controls for Android devices connected to a TV or monitor. It works alongside an existing screen-mirroring setup and can change the phone’s resolution and display density to better fit an external screen. It can also enable a persistent desktop-style mode in the browser and turn off the phone’s backlight while the external display remains in use. These functions are intended for power users who frequently mirror or extend their phone to another display and want to tailor the output. SecondScreen does not replace the screen-mirroring connection itself; it adjusts device settings around that connection. The app requires elevated permissions through root access or ADB. Without one of those, it will not perform its functions. The evidence does not list all display controls or guarantee compatibility with every phone, monitor, or mirroring technology. Its main practical purpose is adapting resolution and density for an external screen and enabling a couple of related display behaviors.
