About Seq
Seq is a self-hosted server for searching, analyzing, and alerting on structured logs and traces. It stores log events as structured JSON and provides a query language for searching and manipulating their fields without first parsing unstructured text. This makes it possible to investigate application behavior and monitor events as they arrive. Seq can receive events over HTTP, OpenTelemetry, custom inputs, and a command-line client. Integrations are available for a range of programming languages, containers, and messaging technologies. Because it is self-hosted, organizations can run the service within their own environment. Seq is designed for modern structured logging, where event properties can be queried directly to diagnose issues or identify patterns in application and service behavior.
