About Shelter
Shelter uses Android Work Profiles to create an isolated space for apps. Users can install or clone apps into that profile, freeze them so they do not run or wake in the background when not in use, and keep two copies of the same app on one device. The work profile provides a separate environment for selected apps, allowing them to be managed independently from the main profile. Freezing an app is useful when it should remain installed but not run until the user actively uses it. Cloning supports using separate app instances on the same phone. Shelter depends on the Android system’s Work Profile implementation. Any system-specific bugs can affect its behavior, and the app can be only as secure as the Work Profile implementation provided by the device. Shelter is a tool for managing that system feature, not a replacement for device-level security.
