About Simba Spark ODBC Driver
Simba Spark ODBC Driver connects SQL-based applications to Apache Spark and Hadoop data through ODBC. It provides direct SQL and HiveQL access, translating SQL queries into HiveQL for processing against a Spark or Hadoop distribution. When the connecting application understands Spark, the driver can be configured to pass queries through for processing. The driver queries Spark for schema information and presents it to SQL-based tools, allowing business intelligence, analytics, and reporting applications to work with the data. It supports query translation, including joins, so users can access data through familiar SQL interfaces while the driver handles the dialect conversion.
