About Simple Nextcloud
Simple Nextcloud is an Android file manager for accessing files on a user’s own Nextcloud server. It can browse folders and view images, upload or download individual files and complete folders, and move, copy, rename, create, or delete files and folders. Files can also be sent to Nextcloud through Android’s share sheet, and the app can act as a storage provider in the system file picker. Users can share files with other Nextcloud users or create public links. The app keeps only folder metadata and image previews in its local cache rather than storing a second hidden copy of every uploaded file. This makes its approach distinct from clients that retain local duplicate copies. Simple Nextcloud connects directly to the server configured by the user and requires an existing Nextcloud account. It is described as having no advertising, analytics, or tracking. Its features combine basic remote file management, sharing, and Android file-provider integration in a deliberately small client.
