About sindook
Sindook is a command-line utility for encrypting files with a hybrid key-encapsulation method that combines X25519 and ML-KEM-768 under the X-Wing design. It can update recipients, passphrases and format versions without decrypting and re-encrypting the file payload when using its fast mode. This supports maintenance of encrypted files when access details need to change while avoiding a full payload rewrite. Sindook is pre-1.0 software, and its format and design have not received an independent security audit. That limitation matters when evaluating it for sensitive data: the stated cryptographic approach and file operations do not amount to an external assessment of the implementation. The product is a terminal-oriented tool for users who need file encryption and recipient or passphrase management from a command-line workflow.
