About SlimBook
SlimBook is a filtered mobile client for browsing a social-network feed. It displays a lightweight web interface and removes selected types of content as they appear, including ads, sponsored posts, stories, reels, suggested people, and posts from pages or groups the user does not follow. Users can block particular authors or groups and hide posts older than a chosen age. The app supports persistent sign-in, pull-to-refresh, photo uploads, background notification checks, and messaging through the service’s messaging website. Video autoplay is disabled, and external links open in the system browser. The content filters operate continuously as new items load, using text patterns to identify posts to hide. SlimBook is intended for users who want a simpler feed with fewer recommendations and promotional items. It is a wrapper around the service’s mobile web interface rather than a separate social network. The product description says it has no tracking or analytics and that communication is between the device and the social network’s servers. Content filtering may depend on how that service presents feed items, since the app identifies items from the page content.
