About Slow Mail
Slow Mail is an Android email client for reading and composing messages through IMAP and SMTP. Unlike clients that keep a local copy of messages and message lists, it does not store emails locally, which reduces local message data but requires an active internet connection and can make loading slower. Account settings, preferences, and PGP keys can be exported to a configuration file, optionally encrypted. A configuration file can be imported and either merged with current settings or applied as a temporary session overlay. This lets users transfer setup between devices or use an account configuration for a session without permanently changing the saved configuration. PGP encryption is built in for supported message workflows. Slow Mail is intended for users who prefer not to retain email copies on the phone and are willing to depend on an active connection to access messages. Configuration files can be stored on local or removable storage or other locations chosen by the user. The app keeps configuration portability separate from message storage.
