sluice is an open-source tool for migrating databases between MySQL and PostgreSQL and keeping them synchronized through change data capture. It supports movement in all four directions between the two database systems, allowing teams to migrate or replicate data as their architecture changes. Change data capture follows updates in a source database and applies them to a destination, helping maintain a current copy after the initial migration. This supports ongoing synchronization rather than a one-time transfer only. sluice is intended for developers and database administrators who need to move data between MySQL and PostgreSQL or keep the systems aligned.
