About Small Device C Compiler
Small Device C Compiler (SDCC) is an optimizing C compiler suite for embedded microcontrollers. It supports standard C language versions and targets a range of small processors and microcontroller families, including MCS-51, Z80, STM8, 6502, HC08 and Padauk devices. Embedded developers can use SDCC to compile C programs for constrained hardware where the target processor differs from a desktop CPU. The compiler is retargetable, allowing its architecture support to be adapted for additional processors. SDCC is intended for firmware developers and others building software for small devices. It provides a compiler workflow for multiple microcontroller targets, with ongoing or unmaintained support noted for some processor families.
