About Souvenirs
Souvenirs is an Android app for creating visual photo albums that combine images with text, drawings, sound, and video. Each album consists of pages built from image or text blocks arranged as tiles. Users can pan and zoom images, add handwritten annotations, and resize tiles to create a layout that tells a story rather than presenting photos only in chronological order. The viewer supports photosphere images, allowing a spherical image to be explored. Audio can be recorded from the phone’s microphone and added to an album. Albums can be exported as PDF, and the app can upload or download albums through a Nextcloud server. Sharing requires a Nextcloud instance with the companion Souvenirs application installed, plus the Android Nextcloud client configured with an account. The app uses the Nextcloud client for synchronization and does not provide hosted storage itself. Internet access is used for album transfer; storage access and microphone access are optional for PDF export and audio recording. Souvenirs is useful for making multimedia keepsakes and sharing them with family or friends through a user-managed server. Its page-based layout and annotations support albums that combine visual arrangement with captions and other media.
