About Stay Put - Unplug Alert
Stay Put sounds a loud alarm if a phone is unplugged while charging, helping deter someone from casually taking it in a shared public space. The alarm can be disarmed using biometric authentication or the device’s credentials. An option can also allow the alarm to be dismissed by plugging the phone back into power. The app runs in the background and is designed not to interfere with normal phone use while monitoring the charging connection. It does not physically prevent theft; it provides an audible alert and deterrent. The app is described as having no tracking or data collection. The audible response is intended to alert nearby people immediately.
