About StreetComplete
StreetComplete is an Android field-survey app for improving OpenStreetMap data. It identifies incomplete or extendable information near the user and marks those places on a map. Each marker presents a simple question that can be answered on site, allowing contributors to complete missing details without using a separate map editor. The app is designed around small, local survey tasks rather than complex map editing. Users answer a question about a nearby place, and the resulting information is submitted to OpenStreetMap under the contributor’s account. This makes it possible to improve geographic data while walking around a neighborhood or visiting a location. StreetComplete is useful for contributors who want guided, question-based mapping tasks. Its approach surfaces nearby data gaps and breaks them into manageable edits that can be completed directly from a phone.
