About subtracks
subtracks is an Android music player for libraries hosted on Subsonic-compatible servers. It supports multiple servers and can handle large libraries, including playlists with thousands of tracks. Users can search the library, sort and filter individual lists, and switch between servers. Album and artist artwork is shown throughout the interface, and colors can adapt to the current artwork. Playback includes gapless transitions, editable and reorderable queues, loop and shuffle modes, and an Up Next function that adds tracks without replacing the current queue. Stream quality can be set separately for Wi-Fi and mobile data, with automatic switching. Songs can be downloaded individually or in bulk, with controls for encoding, bitrate, and metered connections. When offline, stars, play counts, and scrobbles are queued and synchronized to the server after reconnection. Media notifications and headset or Bluetooth controls support playback outside the app. subtracks is free software and is described as having no ads or telemetry. It depends on access to a compatible music server for library and playback features, while downloaded tracks and queued activity support offline listening and deferred updates.
