About Tailwind CSS
Tailwind CSS is a framework for building website styles through utility classes written in HTML and component templates. Its command-line tool scans those files for class names, generates the corresponding CSS rules, and writes them to a static stylesheet. This workflow lets developers describe styling in the markup where it is used, then produce a CSS file for the site. The generated stylesheet contains the styles associated with the classes found during scanning, which supports a build process without requiring a runtime styling layer in the finished site. Tailwind CSS is intended for web developers who want to build and maintain interface styles within their HTML or component files. The CLI connects source templates to the generated CSS output, making it part of a website's development and build workflow. It is designed for flexibility and speed, and the generated site does not need a runtime styling component.
