About Tankblick
Tankblick is an Android app for checking fuel prices at German filling stations. It can search for nearby stations and show the price, distance, and whether each station is open. A detail view displays prices for E5, E10, and diesel, along with the station address and opening hours. Users can save favorite stations and refresh their prices in one request. Results can be opened in a navigation app of the user’s choice. The app can continue to show previously retrieved information offline and indicates how old the displayed prices are. This helps distinguish cached results from newly updated prices. Tankblick requires an API key to retrieve price data. Its description says it has no account, advertising, tracking, analytics, or background requests. Location is sent as coordinates only when the user initiates a nearby search, while favorites, settings, and prices stay on the device. Price history is deleted after 30 days. The app uses local encryption for the API key. It is a fuel-price lookup tool, not a payment or fuel-purchase service.
