About Tapbar
Tapbar creates tappable zones that can open apps, launch shortcuts, or run quick actions from around the screen, including the status bar. Four independent zones can be positioned and resized, with single, double, or triple taps and long presses assigned separately. Swipe gestures can adjust volume or brightness. More than 75 quick actions are available, including controls for connectivity, sound, flashlight, Do Not Disturb, screenshots, battery, and the power menu. Zones can be disabled in selected apps, and Tapbar can optionally start when the device boots. Haptic feedback, portrait and landscape layouts, light and dark themes, and support for 11 languages are included. A settings reset is available. The app works offline and has no internet permission, ads, trackers, or analytics. It uses an Accessibility Service to place zones over the status bar and detect which app is in front for the pause feature; the service does not read screen contents. Without accessibility access, an overlay permission is used instead. Other permissions apply to specific actions, such as changing system settings or Do Not Disturb. Tapbar’s convenience depends on granting the permissions needed for the chosen zones and actions.
