About Tessella
Tessella is an editor for creating and exploring polygon tessellations, which are tilings that cover a plane with shapes. Users can add regular or irregular polygons from a palette or by selecting a boundary edge. The editor validates placements to maintain a finite edge-to-edge tessellation. Editing tools can erase vertices, edges, or polygons, insert new interior shapes, or add a transformed copy of an existing tiling. Copies can be translated, rotated, reflected, or glide-reflected and snapped to exact anchors. Users can select polygons by clicking, color, or shape and recolor them with a built-in picker. The canvas supports panning, zooming, and rotation. Tessellations can be exported as SVG or DOT files for use in other tools. Tessella runs entirely on the device in a WebView-based editor and is described as having no network access, accounts, or trackers. It is intended for exploring geometric tilings through direct manipulation, with validation and exact snapping supporting more structured construction. The available information does not describe mathematical proof tools or additional export formats.
