About TestPackage
TestPackage Configurator generates simulated Windows installers for testing application repackaging, virtualization and deployment tools. Users configure installer behaviors in a graphical interface and then generate a setup executable that can be used as test input. This provides a controlled way to exercise installation-management solutions without relying on a real product installer for every scenario. The configuration covers more than 15 behaviors, including registry changes, shortcuts, services, file associations and firewall rules. By varying these behaviors, testers can examine how their packaging or deployment software handles different kinds of installation effects. TestPackage is intended for developers and administrators evaluating systems that capture, virtualize or deploy Windows applications. Its output is a simulated installer for testing those systems, rather than an installer for a commercial application.
