About TeXslate
TeXslate is an Android editor for LaTeX and XeTeX documents that can compile projects and preview the resulting PDF on the device. Editing and preview appear together in a split view on tablets and a tabbed layout on phones. The editor includes syntax highlighting, automatic compilation when the app is paused, navigation to errors, search and replace, line navigation, comment toggling, a document outline, and custom templates. Projects can use multiple files, including included documents and bibliographies. The app bundles several fonts and can use Android system fonts or fonts in a user-provided folder. Users can configure the main document font with standard LaTeX font commands. TeXslate is designed for offline compilation after its required TeX packages are available locally. The first compile downloads packages as needed; when connected, the app can fetch packages a document uses for the first time. An optional AI assistant is off by default and only contacts external services if the user enables it with their own API key. TeXslate is free software under GPL version 3 or later. It is designed primarily for tablets and supports external keyboards and styluses, while remaining usable on phones.
