About TextTimeline Importer
TextTimeline Importer copies text messages from an iPhone into a CSV file on a Windows PC. It preserves message dates, times, and sender details, and creates a custody manifest recording what was read, when, and a checksum for the exported file. The phone is connected by cable and must be unlocked. The application creates a local backup, reads SMS, MMS, and iMessage conversations, writes the CSV and manifest to the Documents folder, then deletes its working copy of the backup when export is complete. Processing happens on the PC, and the exported file is not uploaded by the application. TextTimeline Importer is intended for people who need an organized local export of their message history. It requires Windows 10 or later and Apple's device-management application to provide the USB driver. The export needs free disk space roughly equal to the iPhone's used storage because it first creates a full backup.
