About Tide
Tide is a local-first coding companion that indexes a codebase with locally generated ONNX embeddings. It provides an AI agent with more than 20 tools for working with the code and includes a permission system that keeps the user in control of actions. Indexing creates a searchable representation of the project that can help the agent work with code across files. The built-in tools support coding tasks, while permissions let users control what the agent may do. The application is designed so the code stays on the user's machine. Tide is intended for developers who want agent-assisted coding while keeping their project local. Its combination of local indexing, a broad toolset, and permission controls supports interactive work without sending code to an external service.
