About Tubester
Tubester helps players use QR-coded Hitster music cards during a game. It scans a card, reads its language and card number, finds the corresponding track in a card-to-song mapping, and opens that song in an external player. The card itself identifies the game card rather than containing the song information, so Tubester uses the mapping data to resolve the track. Supported sets and expansions depend on that dataset, which the app can cache on the device. To preserve the guessing part of the game, the app displays a prompt to turn the phone over and a short countdown before handing playback to the external player. It keeps the song’s year, title, and artist behind a separate reveal control, since the player may show the video title during playback. The app can open links in a compatible player, and the evidence mentions YouTube-based playback. Tubester therefore handles card scanning, track lookup, and spoiler-aware game flow, while playback takes place in another app. Scanning uses the camera, and fetching mappings or opening links requires an internet connection.
