About Tune Tangler
Tune Tangler is a grid-based app for recording and arranging short musical ideas. Users can record through the built-in microphone or USB-connected audio hardware, or load audio files from the device. Each track occupies a colored block in the grid and can be started or stopped individually, by row, or together with the rest of the project. Tracks can play in a loop or once through, and playback can be kept in time with other tracks or run independently. Track controls include trimming the beginning and end, setting volume and left-right balance, changing playback speed, naming the track, assigning a keyboard shortcut, and moving it to another grid position. A quick tap or shortcut starts and stops a track; holding a block opens finer controls. Connected keyboards can use configurable shortcut layouts, which makes the grid workable as a hands-on performance interface as well as a recording workspace. Recording options include audio format, time resolution, bit rate, and mono or stereo recording. Automatic level control and options to reduce room echo or background noise are available when supported by the device. The app retains recordings and settings after it closes. Projects can be exported as a ZIP containing the grid, track settings, and audio, then imported elsewhere; imports are previewed and checked for damage or missing contents before they can replace a project. Profiles can save complete setups, including recording preferences and appearance settings. Microphone access is needed to record, while storage access is used for importing and exporting files.
