About Tuner
Tuner is an Android app for tuning musical instruments. It detects pitch using autocorrelation and FFT spectrum analysis, and evaluates spectrum phase information and polynomial fitting to improve accuracy. A display shows how the pitch changes over time, helping users see whether a note is stable and how far it is from the target. The app includes a basic instrument database for chromatic instruments, guitar, bass, violin, and others, and allows custom instruments to be added. Several temperaments are available, including equal, just, Werckmeister, and Kirnberger. It also supports non-12-tone temperaments such as 17, 19, 41, and 53 equal divisions of the octave. Advanced settings include FFT window size, window type, overlap, and other parameters that affect pitch analysis. These controls make Tuner adaptable to different instruments and tuning systems, from common equal temperament to specialized historical or microtonal setups. Its combination of pitch tracking, instrument presets, custom instruments, and detailed signal settings supports both basic tuning and more specialized musical work.
