About Überböse
Überböse is a companion app for configuring a self-hosted API server used with Bose SoundTouch speakers. It has two main functions. First, it can set up Spotify authentication for the user’s own server; this requires both a Spotify account and a running server. Second, it can control SoundTouch speakers directly through the web service exposed by each speaker, which does not require a Spotify account. For multi-room listening, the app can show and control speaker zones for synchronized playback. Users can adjust volume on individual speakers, see what is currently playing, and configure Spotify presets on the speakers. Überböse is designed for people who operate the companion server and want a mobile interface for speaker control and authentication. The self-hosted server is a dependency for the Spotify setup flow, while direct speaker control uses the speakers’ own interface.
