About ungoogled-chromium
ungoogled-chromium is a set of configuration changes, patches, and build scripts applied to Chromium to remove or disable selected integrations with Google services. The project also aims to improve user control and transparency by changing or removing features that communicate with those services or reduce privacy. It describes itself as a modified Chromium build rather than a separate browser fork. Its changes are intended to preserve the general browser experience while following the project’s narrower goals. Some binaries are removed from the source tree so system-provided binaries can be used or components can be built from source. The exact changes are defined by the project’s configuration and are adjusted as ambiguous cases arise. The supplied description does not make broader claims about all privacy risks or browser behavior.
