About Vessel
Vessel is a local-first observability proxy for traffic sent to large language models. A client can direct its base URL to the Vessel binary, which captures model traffic and provides tools to search, inspect metrics, replay requests, and compare results through a private interface. This allows development teams to examine model interactions as part of their application workflow. Captured traffic is stored on the local machine, while prompts are forwarded only to the model providers configured by the user. The proxy therefore sits between a client and its chosen providers, recording and organizing activity locally while routing requests onward. Search and replay support review of prior interactions, and metrics offer a way to examine usage patterns. Vessel is intended for developers who need visibility into model traffic. Its capabilities center on observing, searching, replaying, and comparing requests.
