About VMPK for Android
VMPK for Android is a virtual MIDI piano keyboard that generates MIDI events from touch input. It can play notes using an embedded software synthesizer or send MIDI events across a local network using a compatible IPMIDI setup. This allows the app to serve either as a self-contained instrument interface or as a controller for other compatible MIDI software. The app simulates a MIDI controller rather than a physical piano. Its primary role is to turn keyboard touches into MIDI note events, with local sound playback provided by the included synthesizer when used in that mode. Network output requires a compatible receiver on the local network. VMPK for Android is suited to musicians who need a portable touch-based MIDI input surface or a simple way to audition notes through the included synthesizer.
