About Voice Keyboard

Voice Keyboard is an Android keyboard that converts speech into text in any text field. The user switches to the keyboard, taps its microphone, speaks, and the transcribed text is inserted into the current app. It requires an API key and a compatible remote speech-recognition endpoint; the app does not include its own speech engine or account service. Recordings can be queued while another transcription is in progress. If a recording cannot be sent, it is kept on the device and resent when the connection returns. Users can switch among dictation languages, add custom vocabulary for names or technical terms, and optionally post-process text to correct punctuation, spelling, and filler words or to shorten, translate, or rewrite it. A terminal mode can format dictated speech as shell commands. The keyboard includes punctuation keys, a clipboard bar, accelerated backspace, and an Enter key that follows the current text field’s action. The microphone is disabled in password fields. It can hand back to another keyboard after dictation and supports 17 interface languages. API keys and settings stay on the device; audio is sent only to the endpoint configured by the user. The app has no analytics, advertising, tracking, or account of its own.
