About wallabag

wallabag is a read-it-later client for saving articles to a self-hosted wallabag server and reading them later. Articles can be saved from a phone, computer, or compatible feed reader, then synchronized to the Android app. Once synchronized, articles can be read offline, making it possible to catch up without a live connection. The app can automatically synchronize content between the server and the user’s devices. It can also download article images for offline reading, organize saved material with tags, and use speech synthesis to read articles aloud. These features support both visual and audio reading and provide a way to maintain an organized archive of saved pages. wallabag requires a server that the user operates or has access to; the Android app is not a standalone hosted service. The server software is open-source under the MIT license, so users can set it up on their own infrastructure. The app is useful for people who want to collect web articles from different devices and read them later across a phone, tablet, e-reader, or computer. Its offline use depends on articles being synchronized and, if needed, images being downloaded beforehand.
