About wash
wash, the wasmCloud Shell, is a command-line tool for building, running, and managing WebAssembly components and wasmCloud applications. It can build components written in multiple languages, run a local wasmCloud host, and deploy applications. This provides a terminal workflow from development through local testing and deployment. The tool includes a live development loop for iterating on component changes and commands for managing plugins and WIT interfaces. WIT, the WebAssembly Interface Type format, describes how components communicate. These functions support assembling and operating component-based applications within the wasmCloud environment. wash is intended for developers working with WebAssembly components and wasmCloud. Its build, development, host, deployment, and management commands combine several tasks in a single CLI, supporting a workflow from source code to a running application.
