About Wasmer
Wasmer is a WebAssembly runtime for running WebAssembly modules across desktop, cloud, edge, and IoT environments. It supports the WASI and Emscripten interfaces, which provide ways for WebAssembly programs to access system functions and use libraries associated with different application ecosystems. The runtime is designed to execute lightweight WebAssembly containers in different environments. This lets developers package code for execution beyond a single operating system or deployment target, with the runtime providing the layer that loads and runs the module. Wasmer is useful to developers building or deploying WebAssembly applications. Its support for WASI and Emscripten gives it compatibility with two common approaches to running WebAssembly code, while its cross-environment role supports use from desktop systems to cloud, edge, and IoT deployments.
