About Water Quality
Water Quality is an Android app for reading and tracking pool or hot tub measurements from a compatible BLE-YC01 Bluetooth water tester. It connects over Bluetooth Low Energy and displays live readings for pH, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), free chlorine, and temperature. Battery status is also shown in the app. A dashboard presents current measurements and a temperature chart covering the previous five hours. History screens provide time-series charts for the measured parameters across intervals from five hours up to fourteen days. Reference lines for pools and hot tubs help compare readings with the ideal ranges shown in the charts, and each parameter card can display percentage change based on recent history. Users can set how often readings are polled and saved locally. A temperature target can trigger a notification, and the app can reconnect to the last paired tester when launched. Measurements are stored in a local database, and the supplied description says that data stays on the device without cloud storage or tracking. The supported sensor is the six-in-one BLE-YC01; compatible units sold under different labels are described as using the same Bluetooth protocol. The tester turns itself off after about five minutes without an active Bluetooth connection, so the app’s polling interval is limited to roughly that period. Continuous polling also uses more of the tester’s batteries.
