About Wattz
Wattz displays battery power and charging information in an Android status-bar indicator and a detailed in-app view. The status bar can show one of several live battery measurements, while opening the app provides a broader set of metrics. These include power in watts, current in amps, voltage, energy level in watt-hours or amp-hours, temperature, charge percentage, whether the device is charging, when charging began, and the estimated time to full charge. The indicator runs as a service and needs notification permission to appear in the status bar. The app must be opened once to start the service. Users can adjust the indicator settings in the app and choose which battery reading is most useful for a quick glance. Wattz is described as requesting no unnecessary permissions, showing no ads, collecting no user data, and sharing no data with third parties. Its purpose is monitoring the device’s reported battery and charging metrics; it does not manage charging or alter the battery’s behavior. The live values can help users compare power draw or observe charging conditions, although the measurements depend on what the device exposes through Android. Wattz is useful for people who want more detailed battery information available without repeatedly opening a settings page.
