WaveUp wakes the phone’s screen when a user waves over the proximity sensor. A pocket mode can also turn on the display when the phone is taken out of a pocket or bag. Both modes are enabled by default and can be switched off in settings. An optional screen-lock feature can lock the phone after the sensor is covered for a configurable period. The app uses the proximity sensor near the phone’s earpiece to detect nearby movement or covering.
