About Wind Bubble
Wind Bubble places a small floating dial over a navigation app to show how the wind relates to the user’s direction of travel. The top of the dial stays aligned with the direction of movement, while a colored marker indicates where the wind is coming from. The display summarizes whether the wind is a headwind, crosswind, or tailwind, including which side a crosswind comes from. Live wind, gust, and temperature information is retrieved from a weather service. Wind speed can be displayed in kilometers per hour, miles per hour, meters per second, or knots. The bubble can be dragged, expanded for a short summary, and adjusted for size, opacity, and refresh interval. Wind Bubble is designed to remain visible while another app provides navigation. It includes no advertising, analytics, or tracking. For local weather, the device’s position is sent as coordinates rounded to a coarse grid; the app does not send precise coordinates according to its description. It is useful for cyclists and other travelers who want to see wind direction relative to their route without switching away from navigation.
