About Winlink Express
Winlink Express is an email client designed to send and receive messages over radio networks, including setups that operate without an internet connection. It supports a range of radio modes and equipment, from packet radio to HF communication, allowing users to choose a transmission method suited to their station and conditions. It can also connect over internet or telnet when those routes are available. The client supports attachments, multiple recipients, tactical addresses, and direct peer-to-peer connections with compatible clients. It also includes forms and compact message transport for emergency communications workflows. This makes it relevant to amateur radio operators and groups that need to exchange email where ordinary internet service may be unavailable. Compatibility depends on the radio, modem or controller, and transmission mode in use; users should consult their local radio or emergency-communications group for setup guidance.
