About Yachito
Yachito is an AI companion for Windows and macOS that works with a notebook of plain Markdown files. It can read the user's notes, prepare morning briefs based on their plans, and help decide what to focus on for the day. Keeping notes as Markdown files makes the notebook readable and editable with ordinary text tools. The assistant connects planning information with a daily review: it uses the notebook as context for a brief and discussion of priorities. It can be configured with either a cloud model or a local model. When a cloud model is used, the context needed for a request is sent to that provider; a local model can keep processing on the device. On Windows, the application is invite-only and requires an invite code to pair an account. Calendar, reminders, and dictation are available only on macOS. Yachito is suited to people who maintain plans in Markdown and want an assistant to help review them, with model choice affecting whether request context leaves the computer.
