About Zahlen & Buchstaben
Zahlen & Buchstaben is a mental arithmetic and vocabulary game for solo or shared play. In the numbers round, six numbers and a target are shown; the player combines the numbers using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division to reach the target. In the letters round, ten letters are drawn and the challenge is to find the longest possible word before time runs out. Solo mode alternates between number and letter rounds and offers four levels of increasing difficulty. Two players can share one phone in either a mode where each keeps a separate score or a head-to-head mode that selects a winner for each round. Network play offers a similar two-player game on separate phones connected over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Additional options include a daily challenge with trophies for successful streaks, timed and no-mistake challenges, and free training without a time or round limit. The app tracks statistics and awards trophies for progress. A light or dark theme can be selected. The game works offline except when two players use network mode, and is described as having no ads or trackers. It is open-source under GNU GPL-3.0. It suits players who want short language and arithmetic challenges alone or with another person.
