About zg-ipchat Peer-to-peer chat tool
zg-ipchat is a peer-to-peer chat tool that sends text messages directly between users without an intermediate server. It supports IPv4 and IPv6 networks and can be used on a local network or across the internet. A friends list helps users distinguish known contacts from other people, and the interface is available in Chinese and English. The application is based on the IP Messenger communication protocol and runs on Windows and Linux. Because communication is direct, users need network connectivity that allows peers to reach one another; the supplied information does not explain automatic traversal of restrictive firewalls or encryption. Users should verify how messages are protected before sending sensitive information. zg-ipchat's documented purpose is straightforward peer-to-peer text communication across local or internet-connected networks.
