About Bitcoin Ticker (+Widget)

Bitcoin Ticker is an Android home-screen widget for checking Bitcoin prices in euros and US dollars. It can show the current price, 24-hour change, high and low, and the time of the most recent update. Users can choose to display EUR, USD, or both in the widget and in the app. The widget can be refreshed manually, and background updates typically occur every 15 to 30 minutes, subject to Android’s battery scheduling. Tapping the widget opens a chart view with time ranges from ten minutes through all-time history. Touching the chart reveals values at specific points. This provides a quick glance at the latest quote and a way to inspect how the price has moved over several time scales without opening a full trading application. Price and historical data are retrieved from public market-data services, with a fallback for current prices. No API key or exchange account is required. The app is available in English and German and is described as having no account, advertisements, analytics, tracking, or unnecessary permissions. It is open-source under the MIT license and remains free, with an optional donation. Bitcoin Ticker is a display and reference tool. It does not describe trading, wallet management, or investment advice. The figures depend on network availability and the external data updates, while background refresh timing can vary because Android controls when battery-sensitive work runs.
