About Bote
Bote helps a group record shared expenses and calculate how to settle them with as few transfers as possible. Each event card stores details such as title, date, location, and attendees. Expenses can include who paid, who is responsible for the cost, categories, and budgeted, spent, and paid amounts. Shares can be divided equally or assigned as percentages, with controls for locking a participant’s share while adjusting others. The final report shows who should pay whom, category totals, and each person’s payment status. Events can be shared as JSON files or QR codes and merged entry by entry. The app is usable offline and defaults to local sharing; optional automatic cloud synchronization can use a server supplied by the user. Bote is suited to trips, gatherings, and other group events where participants need a clear record of expenses and reimbursements.
