About CalSync - Local Calendar Sync
CalSync copies and merges events between local calendars on an Android device. A user chooses a source calendar and a destination calendar, then defines a name for copied events. When an event appears or changes in one calendar, CalSync can propagate it to the other, making it possible to coordinate separate calendars without moving them into a shared cloud service. The app is designed for local calendar data and says it works offline without an account. The sync preview shows the changes before they are applied, so users can review what will happen. Event deletions can be mirrored to the destination, and recurring events are kept in sync. Background synchronization checks for calendar changes and is described as detecting them within seconds. A custom event name can also be used, for example to show availability in a destination calendar without exposing the original event title. These functions can help prevent double-booking when someone maintains work and personal calendars, or coordinate availability across calendars without sharing account credentials. The calendars remain on the device, and syncing takes place there. The description states that no internet connection is required and that there are no accounts, subscriptions, or ads. CalSync is open-source software and its interface follows the device’s dynamic color theme. Its main role is focused: it transfers selected event information between local calendars and keeps corresponding entries aligned, including recurrence and deletion behavior. It is not a hosted calendar service; it operates on calendars already available to the Android device.
