About Cfait

Cfait is a cross-platform task manager for Android, Linux, and Windows that supports both a local calendar and synchronization through standard CalDAV and iCalendar formats. A local calendar can be used offline, with tasks migrated to a server later. The interface updates optimistically, so task entry does not wait for a server response. Tasks can be entered with compact natural syntax for priority, due date, start date, duration, recurrence, and location. For example, a title can be followed by tokens that set its priority, schedule it, or estimate how long it will take. Tasks support subtasks, nested lists, dependencies, hierarchical tags, and aliases. Statuses include needs action, in progress, cancelled, and done, and sorting considers status, start date, due date, and priority. Search filters can locate tasks by status, duration, priority, date, and location. Cfait also supports recurring tasks and URL attachments. It is designed around portable open standards, allowing synchronization with compatible CalDAV servers rather than locking tasks into one service. The app is open-source and local-first, with task data under the user’s control.
