About Contacts Import
Contacts Import transfers contact information from a desktop CSV file into Android contacts. It supports Excel-style CSV files and more than 100 field mappings, with custom mapping so users can choose how columns correspond to contact fields. Common address-book formats are supported, and the importer handles multiple localized character encodings as well as UTF, helping preserve names and other text across languages. The import is one-way from the CSV file into an app-owned “My Contacts” account on the phone. Contacts are not synchronized to a cloud service by this app. If the app is uninstalled, its account and the contacts stored in it are deleted, so the description recommends keeping backups or exports outside the app. The app does not run or use resources when it is not being used. Contacts Import is designed for users who want to move a contact collection from a desktop address book to Android without cloud synchronization. Changes to the source CSV must be imported again; the app does not maintain a two-way link with the original file.
