About dawdle
dawdle is an Android client for Moodle learning platforms. It connects to a Moodle instance chosen by the user, using a username and password or browser-based single sign-on when the institution requires it. Course contents are downloaded from the server and stored for offline access, and marked-up text and embedded images are usually displayed within the app. dawdle supports some basic course modules directly. If a user opens a module that is not supported natively, the app can sign in to the browser and open the content there, providing access to a wider range of course material. The app includes an in-app help menu explaining many of its features. The client can connect to arbitrary Moodle instances, but mobile web services must be enabled on the server. This is often part of a Moodle setup, but the requirement depends on the institution’s configuration. dawdle is useful for learners who want course content on Android, including offline access to previously retrieved material. It combines a native interface for supported modules with browser access for unsupported content, while relying on the school or institution’s Moodle server for courses and authentication.
